Workplace Efficiency

Date: June 16, 2025

In a vast and densely populated country like India, the abundance of a workforce is both a blessing and a challenge. On one hand, skilled professionals elevate an organization to new heights. On the other, fresh talent enters the scene with hope, energy, and enthusiasm - painting a promising picture of the future.

To nurture a thriving workplace culture, we need more than just talent, we need HOPE. Not the wishful kind, but a framework built on four pillars: Humility, Openness, Patience, and Empathy. These values aren’t just ideals, they are milestones on the journey toward a healthier, more collaborative work environment.

In parallel, we also need to walk the MILE: Mentor, Inspire, Listen, and Empathize. This isn’t just a clever acronym, it’s a roadmap to pass on workplace values from one generation to the next. But herein lies the greatest hurdle: today’s emerging workforce often seems reluctant to learn. And it’s not just the younger lot, even seasoned colleagues sometimes show resistance, if not outright friction.

Conflicts, outbursts, and debates are not rare at the workplace, they’re almost routine. But what truly defines leadership is the ability to navigate through these storms while bringing everyone along. Unity, after all, isn’t built by force, but by understanding.

Success at work demands more than just intelligence or skill, it requires the grace to listen more than you speak, and the humility to ask for help when stuck. There’s no shame in seeking guidance; in fact, it’s a strength.

Each individual wants to excel, to rise to the top of their field. But climbing that peak isn’t possible without adapting to the pace of time. We must embrace innovation, sharpen our skillsets, and most importantly, evolve our behavior. Only then can we truly grow, not just as professionals, but as people.

In the end, it is an inspired, motivated, and emotionally intelligent workforce that makes an organization not just successful, but exceptional.

Solitude

 Date: June 15, 2025

In the whirlwind of modern life, the infusion of positive energy into our being is not just beneficial, it is essential. In today’s race against time, carving out a moment of peace for oneself is a luxury few can afford. Perhaps the world has given it a neat little name- Me Time.

The life of a common person is an ever-turning wheel of home, office, family, and countless unseen obligations. Amid all this, to pause and simply be with oneself is no small task.

Lately, I’ve been living alone, as my family is away. This solitude has been both a quiet teacher and a silent companion. After the office hours are done, I spend some time cooking for myself, tending to small household chores, and whatever time remains, I dedicate to reading the newspaper.

A humble newspaper, often overlooked in the digital storm, is still a mirror to the world. Some days, I dive deep into its stories and come out richer in thought. Other times, my mind wanders, and the words don’t quite land the way they should. Yet, there’s something serene in unfolding those pages, in letting the rhythm of ink and silence speak louder than any screen ever could.

No TV, no internet scroll, no social media noise can replace the gentle intimacy of reading in solitude. That, too, requires silence -not just around you, but within you.

And that’s the thing about solitude, it’s not loneliness. It is a space, sacred and still, where you begin to see yourself more clearly. It’s in these moments alone that we begin to truly know who we are.

From time to time, a little retreat into ourselves is not just desirable—it is necessary.

Spiritual Practice

 Date: June 14, 2025

After exploring the path of health and wellness, the journey toward spirituality now seems like the natural next step. I’ve always had some exposure to yoga, meditation, and spirituality, but today’s experience was different. On the invitation of Ramesh Bhai, I attended a media gathering at Brahma Kumaris in Siri Fort.

The event, titled “From Chaos to Clarity- Spiritual Tools for a Peaceful Mind,” was organized by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya. The focus was on how journalists and media professionals constantly surrounded by negative news-can protect their mental well-being by embracing spirituality in their daily lives.

In the constant noise and chaos of modern life, finding time for oneself is not just important for mental health but is also essential for spiritual growth. For media professionals, always on the run, spirituality might just be the much-needed anchor- a smart way to ease the stress.

Keeping our thoughts positive is crucial to shielding the mind from the effects of a toxic environment. After a deeply enriching spiritual session, it felt wonderful to reconnect with teachers, classmates, and juniors from the Film and TV Studies department at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

Taking time out to meet old friends and familiar faces brings its own kind of peace. For those of us glued to our desks, attending social events and reconnecting with people is often a challenge but things seem to be changing. Just a day after sowing the seeds of health, this touch of spirituality brought with it a refreshing burst of new energy into life.

The Pursuit of Health

 Date: June 13, 2025

The adage, "Health is wealth," a phrase I learned in childhood, is truly resonating with me now, after crossing 40 springs of life.

Maintaining physical well-being is incredibly crucial. For the past year and a half, minor ailments in my body have been a source of growing concern. However, I couldn't bring myself to rely on allopathic treatment for a cure. Deep down, I always had a flicker of faith in Ayurveda, which was further strengthened by the insightful discourse of Jyotirvaid Vaishnavacharya Tanmay Goswami at my workplace.

The wellness session provided significant insights into lifestyle. In today's modern era, lifestyle has become the leading cause of diseases. The blind imitation of Western lifestyles by many is a major contributing factor. This is also why the Indian public often lacks faith in the Ayurvedic medical system. Interestingly, traditional Indian medicine is now slowly becoming a point of attraction for people in the West.

According to Jyotirvaid, treatment isn't about a "quick fix" as is often seen in allopathy. Instead, Ayurvedic treatment is not just a way to cure illness; it's a holistic system for improving lifestyle and maintaining long-term health. If you want to stay healthy, you must keep your stomach healthy, as it's the root of all diseases. The saying, "A clean stomach banishes all ailments," is not just a slogan for medicine; it's remarkably logical. Therefore, a healthy stomach is the strongest indicator of overall well-being.

Health truly is wealth. I've taken my first steps towards Ayurvedic practices in my pursuit of health.
